Madly Gems is a collaborative effort between New York trained jewelry designer, Emily Fern Tan, and Maddy Barber, presenter of the Singapore’s top morning breakfast show with Kiss92 FM. The dynamic duo are madly in love with rare gem stones, the key factor which inspired a partnership, creating timeless and gorgeous bespoke gem pieces in the comfort and convenience of their own studio situated in Tiong Bahru. Within two years, the duo’s relentless bid to create near to perfect jewelry pieces have won them praises from their clients, press and international recognition by The New York Times.

Marilyn Tan Jewelry (MTJ)         

Marilyn Tan, the creative algorithm behind Marilyn Tan Jewelry, is a trained family lawyer called to bar in UK, Australia and Singapore. She developed a deep interest and was smitten with designing jewelry when she became a stay-at-home mom after the birth of her first child. Marilyn started taking lessons at Lasalle College of the Arts and dabbled in designing jewelry.  Since then, she has never looked back.

A veteran jewelry designer with 20 years of jewelry design experience under her belt, Marilyn’s designs are sold at the some of the most prestigious fashion stores in the UK and the US. Although Marilyn creates bespoke jewelry pieces under her label, Marilyn Tan Jewelry, for her clients, her passion to create, design and innovate prompted her to launch her diffusion line, MTJ, in 2011.

Marilyn works with various metals such as White, Yellow and Rose Gold, .925 Silver, Bronze, Brass, Copper and a variety of crystals, gems, and stones to create beautiful, elegant and sophisticated jewelry pieces. The inspiration for her designs comes from her life experiences, from nature to fine art as well as her travels.

Choo Yilin, a self-trained jewelry designer, is undoubtedly Singapore’s top jade jewelry designer. She uses jade, which is an ornamental rock with deep Asian historical culture, as the main element in her jewelry designs. Her designs embellishes the jade with precious metal and rare gemstones, giving her jade jewelry pieces, a more contemporary and modern look. Yilin opened her first boutique at Joo Chiat Road and will be opening her flagship store at Mandarin Gallery this July.
