SMRT and Disney today inked an 18-month collaboration to bring Disney into the SMRT public transport, retail and digital networks. The collaboration will bring Disney’s franchises and brands closer to over two million passengers in SMRT’s transport network and hundreds of thousands more shoppers in SMRT’s retail and digital networks daily.
The deal was signed by Ms Dawn Low, Managing Director of SMRT’s commercial arm and Mr. Rob Gilby, Managing Director of The Walt Disney Company (Southeast Asia) Pte Ltd.
SMRT and Disney will engage and reward commuters and customers in SMRT’s transit network, and also at the Kallang Wave mall in the Singapore Sports Hub and SMRT’s e-shop, iMOB Shop. The specially designed promotions will be centred on upcoming movies in 2015 and films from the Disney, Marvel, Star Wars and Pixar libraries. The first phase of the retail campaign, in celebration of the year-end festivities, will feature the screening of the immensely popular movie Frozen from 20th Nov to 31st Dec 2014, followed by Cinderella to usher in the Chinese New Year.
The Walt Disney Company through the Disney Media+ team has worked with SMRT to create this special experience for Singaporeans. Disney Media+ is a division of the Company that works with like-minded brands to connect with consumers in meaningful and innovative ways.
