My first watch was Pierre Balmain. Although it was a S$500 plus watch bought at Takashimaya, I was proud of myself because I bought it with my first pay cheque. The watch lasted me for nearly 5 years before I had a change of heart to Tag Heuer, which still remains one of my favourite watch brands. Although Pierre Balmain is an established brand and needs no introduction, it strives to renew its branding with distinctive designs for each season. For SS14, the brand still had the punk rock element- raw and edgy, but this time the design team created a line which was more refined and polishedwith pant suits, mirco-mini skirts intensified by bold prints and leather pieces.
When I stepped into Pierre Balmain’s store yesterday, the atmosphere was private, close-knit and well-planned. The retail store separated itself into a female section and a male section. Although the female pieces which consisted mostly pants with lovely matching tops, I was drawn to the men’s tee designs which comprised of v-neck and round-neck tees coupled with the bold prints and not discounting the punk vibe. I wanted to get one for my husband but he was the polo tee kind of guy, so I decided against wasting my monies. I would suggest that women whose male partners were the jeans and t-shirt type of guy to take a look at the Pierre Balmain’s latest range of men’s tees which included distressed t-shirts and denim jackets at a great price. I forgot to mention that the colours of the tees were neutral so it would fit most guys and most skin colours.
I had a really good time with great service and free-flow of champagne. I was able to meet up with Andrea de Cruz and she was so lovable and charming. She looked ravishing with her new hairstyle and we talked about a multitude of things from clothes to kids to family to enjoying life. I liked the last part best – ENJOYING LIFE!
As I had to pick up my boys, I left the launch a little early and before I left, Christina and her team were so kind to give me a cupcake with the Pierre Balmain branding on it. It was a nice touch to the event. And before I go off, let’s enjoy Pierre Balmain’s SS2014 runway show in Paris.
