KIPLING X CHRISTINE LAU COLLECTION

GO ON A BOLD AND CREATIVE JOURNEY WITH KIPLING AND CHRISTINE LAU

Following the introduction of Kipling’s Live.Light creative vision in 2018, Kipling has partnered with renowned Chinese designer, Christine Lau, for its Fall/Winter 2019 season to create a limited-collection that draws inspiration from music, nature, art, and other forms of creative expressions. The Kipling x Christine Lau collection features two chic designs: a satin dragonfly applique on quilted fabric and a youthful lime green graffiti-inspired music print on juniper. The designs evoke a sense of unbound freedom while promoting the ability to explore the urban playground without being weighed down.

The dragonfly print is a signature design element of Christine Lau. When walking through her design inspiration, she says, “I often take inspiration from nature, which has a sense of rhythm, harmony, and flow. To me, Live.Light is the openness to experience a lightness of oneself, the mind and of course an outfit to match!” The dragonfly print is designed with a cutting-edge elegance alongside a playful concept. A premium finishing adds an elevated sense of femininity, making an impactful statement for the collection.

Fun is also the heart of Christine Lau’s design. The music print collection is bold, playful and boasting with confidence. It reflects the modern women with a sophisticated yet cheerful character. The music prints comprises of musical notes and faces which echoes Kipling’s seasonal theme- ‘Express Yourself Through Music’. “These graffiti patterns shows how music affects our emotions and inspires people in everyday life. I chose neon green because the colour reflects a light and energetic way of living”, Christine Lau says.

With the Kipling x Christine Lau collection, Kipling encourages you to be light-hearted, confident to go your own way and free to express yourself in an artistic way.

In the execution, both designs are presented on three bag styles: Delia, Art M, and Halima. Delia is designed for urban mobility needs – a backpack with a feminine silhouette and agility to fit everyday essentials. The Art M is the perfect everyday carry-on, which fits every fashionable outfit. The front zipped pocket of Art M securely stores items such as mobile phones or keys. If you prefer to have a bag for multiple occasions, the Halima will be your choice of preference, seamlessly transforming from a cross-body bag to an on-trend waist bag.
